The REF card says NO GEL or MATCH

MATCH means the two lights are within 5 mired, close enough to read as the same light. NO GEL means a gel would not help: the lights already match, or the gap is finer than the thinnest sheet.

Step by step

  1. NO GEL: already matched. Leave the light as it is.
  2. NO GEL: finer than 1/8. The gap is smaller than 1/8 CTO or 1/8 CTB can move, and the card shows what is left in mired.
  3. To close a small leftover, turn the light's own color control if it has one, then read again.

If that didn't work

A gap under 6 mired asks for no gel at all. Meter stacks at most two sheets, so a very large gap can also show a leftover after the stack.
