AWB or gray card: which one to use
AWB reads the whole picture the way your camera does, and it is quick for a sense of the light. GRAY CARD reads only a card that fills the frame, and it is the one to use for a white balance, because nothing else in the frame pulls the color.
Step by step
- Tap the reading to switch between AWB and GRAY CARD.
- On GRAY CARD, hold an 18% gray card where the face will be, facing the light, and fill the frame with it.
- Wait for the badge, then tap LOG. Both estimates are saved with every reading; the one you picked is the one shown.
If that didn't work
If the badge stays low on a card, check the exposure: a card that is clipped or very dark caps it. Keep your own shadow off the card.
