SUN says COMPASS UNCALIBRATED or NO LOCATION
The arc stays hidden until Meter knows where you are and which way the phone faces. The note at the top of SUN says which is missing and what to do.
Step by step
- NO LOCATION: allow location access for Meter, or open PLANNING CHART and enter coordinates under LOCATION.
- COMPASS UNCALIBRATED: move away from metal and swing the phone in a figure eight.
- ATTITUDE UNSTABLE: put the phone down for a moment, then pick it up again.
- ALIGN TO SUN: point the camera so the sun sits in the circle, then tap ALIGN TO SUN. Look at the screen, never at the sun.
If that didn't work
PLANNING CHART shows the same sun times and a 24-hour altitude chart without the camera. Meter shows the arc once the compass is within 15 degrees and hides it again past 30. On an iPhone Duo folded part way, SUN shows its chart instead of the arc; open it flat or close it to see the arc.
