Meter says a light may flicker

Meter saw rolling bands from a light that pulses, like a dimmed LED or a lamp on the mains, and your shutter does not take in a whole number of pulses. Tap USE to switch to the safe shutter it names.

Step by step

  1. Check the mains setting in RIG: 50 or 60 Hz, set from your region at first.
  2. Tap USE on the orange line to set the flicker-safe shutter, for example 1/60 at 24 fps on 60 Hz power.
  3. Or change the light: a different dimmer level, or the fixture's flicker-free mode.
The orange flicker line: 60 Hz light, 1/48 may flicker, 1/60 won't, with USE

If that didn't work

Meter looks for bands that move between two video frames. It can miss a light locked to an exact multiple of your frame rate, it does not measure how much a light flickers, and its safe shutter assumes the common case, a light pulsing at twice the mains. Test on the camera at the shutter you will shoot.
